How did Advanta Health Solutions expand wellness tracking with ROOK?
Advanta Health Solutions moved beyond geo-fenced check-ins to sleep, recovery, stress and movement data by integrating wearables through ROOK.

Advanta Health Solutions runs virtual wellness incentive programs for corporations and insurers. It used to validate activity only through geo-fenced check-ins at 40,000 partner facilities. By integrating wearables through ROOK, including Garmin, Apple Health, Fitbit and Google Fit, Advanta added sleep, recovery, stress and everyday movement data. Daily app usage rose 26%, and 65% of enrolled users completed at least one activity in 2022.
Advanta Health Solutions offers fully virtual wellness incentives that validate, track and reward health-focused activities. The Advanta platform covers physical fitness, mental wellbeing and nutrition, and is used by over 3,100 organizations.
What problem did Advanta have before ROOK?
Before partnering with ROOK, Advanta relied on geo-fencing to validate physical activity across its network of 40,000 partner facilities. Geo-fencing worked, but it had limits:
- Tracking sleep, recovery, and stress was not possible.
- Data on daily movement and activity outside step counting was lacking.
- Measuring actual effort during physical activity was limited to facility check-ins.
- Insights into tangible health improvements for users or workforce health trends were insufficient.
Advanta needed more complete, accurate and actionable data to close these gaps.
How did ROOK solve it?
Advanta integrated ROOK to bring wearable data into its platform. ROOK let Advanta extend wellness tracking beyond facility check-ins and step counts to sleep patterns, recovery metrics, stress levels and everyday movement.
Members connect devices such as Garmin, Apple Health, Fitbit and Google Fit, and Advanta uses that data to track progress and reward healthy habits.
What does the integration give members and organizations?
For members: complete tracking, accountability and rewards for healthy behaviors.
For organizations: clear impact measurement, better decision-making and visible ROI on wellness initiatives.
What results did Advanta report?
Advanta reported these results after integrating ROOK:
- Higher engagement: daily app usage increased by 26%.
- Participation: 65% of enrolled users completed at least one activity in 2022.
- Frequent interaction: active users engaged with the app 181 times a year on average.
Advanta states that these results were validated by the Validation Institute.
What does the Advanta case show?
Advanta Health Solutions combined wearable tracking with rewards to give insurers and corporations a wellness program that measures more than facility visits. For a related program design, see how to turn wearable data into a scalable reward system.
