Steps from a Garmin wearable, weight from a Withings scale, blood pressure from a Withings monitor and glucose from a lab report, each in its own format, and what ROOK returns from them: one call, a summary and a separate lab data document in one format, a health score built on them, and an alert when a reading drifts outside the user baseline.

How ROOK fits in

ROOK runs inside your app, with your users' consent.

ROOK is infrastructure behind your product. Your users authorize their sources from your app, and ROOK delivers the data to your backend.

Data flow in ROOK

Health data moves through ROOK from user consent to alerts.

Most integrations stop when the data arrives. ROOK connects it, standardizes it, and sends alerts when a signal crosses a threshold.

  1. Phone showing a customer app's Connect your data screen with Garmin connected and Apple Health, Oura and Withings ready to connect, next to a consent prompt to share steps, sleep, heart rate and body weight

    Data authorization

    Your users authorize access.

Inside your app, each user connects their sources through the ROOK connection page or SDK, and ROOK reads only what they authorize.

  2. Phone showing a customer app with Garmin, Withings, clinic records and a lab report all connected, next to a ROOK Connect card: one integration for wearables, medical devices, EHR/EMR and labs, 4 sources connected

    Data consumption

    Every source, one integration.

Wearables, medical devices, EHR/EMR and labs, reached through a single integration.

  3. Three raw payloads that name resting heart rate differently (Garmin restingHeartRate, Oura lowest_heart_rate, a Withings type code) merged into one standardized record: resting heart rate, 61 bpm, same units and timestamps

    Data representation

    Normalized into comparable records.

Formats and units normalized into one record, comparable across every source.

  4. Phone showing 30 days of resting heart rate that rises past a dashed threshold, next to a ROOK Signals alert: resting heart rate crossed the threshold, +8 bpm three days in a row, delivered to your webhook

    Data detection

    Readings become alerts.

ROOK Signals checks each reading against a threshold and sends an alert your product can act on.

  5. Phone showing 90 days of resting heart rate with a dashed 14-day projection, next to an outlook card marked Coming soon: resting heart rate is likely to keep rising

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about ROOK

What teams usually want to know before they connect their first source.

What is ROOK?

ROOK is a health data platform that connects, standardizes, and activates data from wearables, mobile health sources, medical devices and, depending on product availability, medical records and laboratory results. A single integration helps turn fragmented data into structured information for digital health, fitness, wellness, and insurtech products.

What types of health data can ROOK connect?

ROOK supports activity, sleep, body health, and physiological data from compatible sources. Exact availability depends on the provider, device, operating system, user permissions, region, and contracted products.

Who is ROOK for?

ROOK is designed for digital health, fitness and wellness, insurance, research, and other teams that need to integrate health data into their products. It is B2B infrastructure: each customer uses the data within the experience it provides to its own users.

View use cases

How is ROOK different from integrating directly with each provider?

ROOK brings multiple sources into a common architecture and standardizes authorization, extraction, processing, and delivery. This reduces the need to build and maintain a separate integration for every provider.

Can I test ROOK before purchasing a plan?

Yes. You can use the Sandbox environment to explore the portal, test the integration flow, and work with test data before moving to Production. Sandbox capabilities may differ from those contracted for Production.

Do I need a mobile app to use ROOK?

Not in every case. API-based sources can connect through a web flow. Sources that store data on the phone require ROOK SDKs or ROOK App, which provides a ready-to-use mobile experience.

Explore ROOK App

How can I get started?

Create an account, configure your credentials and webhook in Sandbox, and test user connections and data delivery. When you are ready for Production, select a plan, complete the applicable agreements, and validate the implementation with the ROOK team.

Create an account

How much does ROOK cost?

ROOK pricing depends on your plan, usage volume, and the products or add-ons you need. The Pricing page lists the plans, and the ROOK team can confirm the right option for your use case.

Is ROOK secure and does it support privacy requirements?

ROOK operates under a HIPAA-aligned security program, signs BAAs with covered entities, and processes EU personal data under GDPR as a data processor. Applicable contractual documentation may include a DPA, SCCs, and a BAA when appropriate. Request current security and compliance information to assess your implementation.

Review security and compliance

Does ROOK provide medical diagnoses or recommendations?

No. ROOK connects, organizes, and analyzes available data, and certain products may generate descriptive scores or alerts. Clinical interpretation, diagnosis, treatment, and user-level decisions remain the responsibility of the customer and, where applicable, qualified healthcare professionals.
